Spirit of the Wolf Sanctuary

I feel honored to be able to share with you the amazing rescue work Kathryn and Robert Douglass are doing for wolves. They are passionate about wolves and completely comitted to do what it takes to rescue them. Donations are very much welcomed as this is their only means, at this point, to be able to continue with their work.

Please read more about them below and if you feel inspired to help with a donation of any kind, please visit their website Spirit of the Wolf Sanctuary for more information.

Robert and Kathryn Douglass created  Spirit of the Wolf Sanctuary to have a place
where wolves and wolf  hybrids  can  live  out  their  lives in a safe environment with
people  that  understand  and  love  them.  “Kathryn  is  like  the  big  cat  and wolf
whisperer. She seems to truly understand these animals.” says a friend.

Kachina, a two week old black phase gray wolf, was rescued by Robert & Kathryn
and  has  become  the  Ambassador  wolf  and  driving force behind the sanctuary.
Kachina was rescued from a wolf breeder who was arrested .for cruelty to animals.
This  breeder  had  seven  adult  wolves  that were living in crates and could not be
saved.

Kachina  has  taught  Robert and Kathryn so much throughout the years and more
so about other wolves that have nowhere to go and the need to have this sanctuary.
Once the word  was  out  that  Robert and Kathryn  rescue  wolves,  the calls have
been coming in weekly.  Kathryn says, “It breaks my heart that we do not have the
space for these animals.”

“We do not take this  lightly  and  understand  that  this is a lifetime commitment.”
says Kathryn. “Reading everything both correct and maybe not so correct material,
going to different refuges and seminars to  learn  as much as we can. There are so
many places for big cats  but  not  for wolves. Where do they go and with so many
sanctuaries going under? These animals become victims of euthanasia and it’s not
their fault that they are here.”

Robert and Kathryn have shown that it is never too late to do what matters most.
